Actor Biography
Sean Blakemore stars as Sheriff Myer, an old-fashioned law-and-order type who is under pressure to solve the first major crime in Chatham, in season two of the highly anticipated Freeform anthology series "Cruel Summer."
Blakemore is an award-winning actor who has an undeniable presence on screen. He is well known for his depth and honesty and the raw gifts he brings to each character. In film, he has worked opposite Brad Pitt in "Ad Astra" and garnered rave reviews for his work in "Star Trek Into Darkness," "Spinning Man," "Motives," "Young Cesar," "Blackout," "Restraining Order," "Woman Thou Art Loosed" and "For The Love of Lockwood."
Also a prolific actor in television, he has worked on critically acclaimed shows such as "Greenleaf," "The Quad," "13 Reasons Why," "American Crime," "Bosch," "American Horror Stories" and Steven Spielberg's mini-series "Into the West," just to name a few. He also earned a Daytime Emmy® Award for his role on "General Hospital." More recently, Blakemore appeared in the OWN TV series "All Rise."
Blakemore also won the NAACP Theatre Award for his powerful performance in the dramatic play "Saturday Night at the Palace." Some of his additional stage work includes "Ninth Wave," "Seduced," "Church Girl" and "House of Blue Leaves."
