Actor Biography

Katie Stevens is a versatile young actress who has quickly established herself as one of Hollywood's most sought-after, vibrant young talents. She currently leads the cast of Freeform's "The Bold Type," which reveals a glimpse into the outrageous lives and loves of those responsible for the fictional global women's magazine, Scarlet. The show is inspired by the life of Joanna Coles who currently serves as chief content officer at Hearst Magazines and previously served as editor in chief of Cosmopolitan Magazine. Joanna executive produces alongside David Bernad, Ruben Fleischer, Victor Nelli Jr., Holly Whidden, Matt McGuinness and the show's creator Sarah Watson.

Recently, Stevens wrapped Dimension Films' latest horror film "Polaroid," based on director Lars Klevberg's short film of the same name. The film is being produced by Roy Lee and Chris Bender who bring their "Ring" touch to the script written by Blair Butler. She stars alongside a stellar ensemble cast which includes Kathryn Prescott, Mitch Pileggi, Keenan Tracey and Samantha Logan.

Stevens previously starred as Karma in the hit MTV comedy series "Faking It," executive produced by Carter Covington. The series, which aired for three seasons, centers on Karma and her best friend Amy who love each other – in slightly different ways. She also portrayed the role of Marg Helgenberger's daughter, Lindsey Willows, in the two-hour series finale of the CBS crime drama "CSI."

On stage, Stevens stars in the wildly popular "Cruel Intentions: The Musical," which is based on the 1999 cult classic of the same name starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillipe. She portrays Katherine (originated by Gellar) and has performed to sold-out audiences at the Rockwell Stage. Due to popular demand, she recently reprised her role again at the Prospect Theater in Los Angeles.

Stevens began performing and singing at age 3. Her passion eventually landed her a spot on the "American Idol" stage. In August 2009, she auditioned for "American Idol" in Boston, Massachusetts, and sang "At Last" where all four judges (including guest judge Victoria Beckham) advanced her to Hollywood. At the Boston audition, judge Kara DioGuardi called her one of the most talented 16-year-olds she had ever seen.

Stevens currently splits her time between Los Angeles and Nashville.
